3/31/2023 – Call-Out
Good afternoon, Conner Street Families –
Parents when you are visiting our school, it is important for you to buzz and wait for a response from Lisa. If you see a staff member or other parent entering, please wait until Lisa has officially acknowledged your presence. Student safety is a top priority, and we must be aware of anyone entering the building.
Next week is Spring Break. There is no school for students OR staff. Students and staff return to school April 10th.
The week we return to school is very busy, please listen closely for a run down of activities.
All week it will be our Spring Book Fair. It is not a buy one get one fair, and we will not be having an evening shopping event.
April 12th – 4th Grade Field Trip
April 13th – Spring Pictures and Class Group Photos, these are Pre-Pay ONLY
Yearbooks are still on sale, please see Facebook for more information.

Finally, update to the school calendar – the last day for students, May 31st, is now a 3-hour early dismissal. We will dismiss at 11:30 am.
Enjoy your break!

Good evening, I know this is not the normal night for a call out but I do have some information. Tomorrow is Connor Street day at the Hurricane Pizza Hut, all you have to do is mention Connor Street Elementary when you place order and our fifth graders will receive 15% of the profit. Also, we did complete our evacuation drill this afternoon, thank you to those of you who listened to the call out or read our Facebook post and had your students prepared to take a drill seriously.

3/24/2023 – Call-Out
Good afternoon, Conner Street Families –
This coming week, depending on weather, we will be doing an evacuation drill where we will walk to one of our three reunification spots. Please talk to your children about the importance of taking drills seriously, but that there is no need to panic. Each time we do a drill, it is announced clearly on the intercom that it is a drill. Students will be having to cross the street at one point, so we may have police officers present to help us. Again, please do not be alarmed if you see this.
All county chorus performers will be practicing for their concert all day on March 29th and 30th. The concert is the 30th at Poca High School.
Thursday, March 30th is our 5th grade night at Pizza Hut, please mention Conner Street Elementary when placing an order and we received 15% of the profits.
Good luck to our archery team as they compete in the state archery competition this weekend.
Finally, April 3rd-7th is Spring Break. There is no school for students OR staff.
Enjoy your weekend!

3/10/2023 – Call-Out
Good evening, Conner Street Families – There is a lot on our update, so please listen carefully.
Reminder next week is the last week for the Read-a-thon, we are halfway to our $10,000 Read-a-thon goal. If we reach that goal by March 17th, Mrs. Warner has agreed to cut her hair in front of students and donate it to Locks of Love.
Next week we are celebrating One Book One School. All students have been reading the same book, The One and Only Ivan, and will be bringing their own copy home.
Students who will be using a different mode of transportation from school need to have a note. You may also call the school with plenty of advanced warning. We cannot simply take a student’s word for it that they have had a transportation change. We have had a lot of mix-ups due to this lately. If there is no note, or no call, students will be sent home via their normal mode of transportation.
Kindergarten registration is March 15th and 16th. If you know anyone who plans to send their child to Conner Street next year for Kindergarten, please have them call Lisa to make an appointment.

3/3/2023 – Call-Out
Good evening, Conner Street Families – There is a lot on our update, so please listen carefully.
First, we realize it is probably overwhelming for some of you with all the fundraisers we have going on right now. We apologize, it just so happened that Pi Day, the American Heart Association Heart Challenge and Read Across America weeks are all during the time. Next year, we will look at doing our Read-a-thon during the fall semester.
On that note, we will be selling chances to pie teachers and administrators next week. Chances will cost $1. For each $1, the student will have one ticket entered into a drawing to pie their teacher. All student tickets will then be combined at the end of our activity to have the chance to pie the administrators.
Additionally, we are almost halfway to our $10,000 Read-a-thon goal. If we reach that goal by March 17th, Mrs. Warner has agreed to cut her hair in front of students and donate it to Locks of Love.
Next, Saturday – March 11th is the PTB Carnival. All are welcome; however, parents must stay with their children. The times are 11-4, and more information is coming soon.
For 5th grade parents – the $50 deposit for our field trip is due by March 17th. There was a typo on one part of the informational letter.
