MESSAGE FROM THE SUPERINTENDENT

It is with great excitement that, on behalf of Putnam County Board of Education, I welcome you to Putnam County Schools. Putnam County Schools (PCS) accepts the challenge to create opportunities for success for ALL students through the commitment of Achieving Excellence each and every day! As superintendent, I look forward to working collaboratively with the education community to enhance the already great opportunities that PCS provides for ALL students. I pledge to work jointly with the Board of Education members to continue PCS on its progressive and aggressive mission to educate ALL students so that they will be competitive in the world in which they live. I pledge to continue the focus on Achieving Excellence through very recognizable High Expectations for ALL. I pledge to make decisions that I believe are best for students in the system. Additionally, I pledge to serve with integrity and honesty. I appreciate your support as a leader in the BEST School System in West Virginia – Putnam County Schools!

EDUCATIONAL EXPERIENCE AND PERSONAL INFORMATION

Mr. Hudson earned his Bachelor of Arts Degree from The University of Charleston and his Master of Arts Degree in Educational Administration from Marshall University and just completed his thirty-second year in the field of education. He is recognized as a talented life-long professional educator with a proven track record over the years in developing continuous improvement initiatives to enhance the education efficiencies and effectiveness in Boone County Schools where he has served as an elementary teacher, elementary principal, middle school principal (where the school received the following awards: “National Spotlight School”, US Secretary of Education Conference on Education Technology, “National Title I Distinguished School:, National Blue Ribbon School, WV Blue Ribbon School and WV School of Excellence) Prior to joining Putnam County Schools he served seven years as Superintendent and ten years as Assistant Superintendent in WV Public Schools. Mr. Hudson has presented at the National Level – Breakout Session – The Council of Chief State School Officers (CCSS), Baltimore, MD and Breakout Session – National Staff Development Conference St. Louis, MO regarding “Building a District Leadership Development Program for School Leaders”. His wife Linda is a third grade teacher and they have two daughters Heather and Jessica, who are both employed in the medical field as a physician assistant and nurse. Mr. Hudson currently resides in Scott Depot, WV.
