Hurricane Middle School Needs Project DRAFT Schedule

Kick-Off Meeting at Hurricane Middle School will be held on February 6th at 4:30 pm. with the selected committee.

ZMM Agenda for this first meeting with the designated committee members:

  • Introductions to the ZMM Team

  • Committee Member Introductions

  • Project Schedule

  • Explanation of the Design and Construction Process to the Committee

  • Submission to the SBA and Tasks

  • Expectations of the Committee Members

  • Committee Tasks

  • Committee Members' Ideas, Wants, Desires, and Must Haves

  • Review of other school facility pictures

  • Schedule Future Committee Meetings

 Proposed Tentative Design Schedule will be as follows:

  • SD-Schematic Design Complete May 6, 2025 (3 months)

  • DD-Design Development Complete September 6, 2025 (4 months)

  • CD-Construction Document Submission December 6, 2025 (3 months)

  • Bidding Complete January 27, 2026 (4 to 6 weeks)

  • Construction Starts February 2026 (this project may take from 20 tom 24 months)

  • Substantial Completion February 2028

  • Contractor Punch List and Furniture Installation February-March 2028

This is a tentative Design Schedule.  These are typical design timelines.  The SD Phase will determine if the overall schedule may be shortened.  ZMM will make every intent to get a head start on any task that they will need to do to speed up the overall design process.

There is an option to start the construction process with an early Site Development Package.  This process would begin during the DD Phase.  This may cut some time off of the overall Construction Time.  ZMM and Putnam County Schools will better determine this during the SD phase and site investigation with a survey and soil borings.

The following items are already in process by ZMM:

  • Property Survey

    • As soon as the snow eases up, they will be able to complete the survey

  • Soil Borings

    • ZMM will locate initial borings for site development and building foundation design purposes, additional borings may be required after finial building location and floor plan are completed. 

    • As soon as the snow eases up, they will be able to complete the borings

  • ZMM has started a project budget

  • ZMM has started a Program of Spaces
