Good evening, Conner Street Families, just wanted to do a quick call out to update you on some information as well as upcoming events. First, if you plan on signing your child out AFTER 2:00 pm, please send a note or give our secretaries a call. Things get hectic at the end of the day, and this would help us out. Obviously, if you have an emergency that is a different case. Second, our first Popcorn Friday will be this coming Friday, September 16th. If you are wanting to purchase a pass for the full year, please send the money and completed form back to school ASAP. Finally, on Friday, September 16th from 4:00 – we are finished, and again on Saturday, September 17th from 10:00 – we are finished we will be working on stenciling new games on our playground blacktop area, as well as touching up some that we already have. All are welcome, and any help would be appreciated. We do have the paint, but if you want to bring painter’s tape, or brushes/rollers I am sure we can use them. This will all be dependent on weather. Have a great weekend!

Hello Conner Street Families, it has been another great week at CSE. Just a few things on today’s call out. First, there is NO School on Monday, September 5th due to Labor Day. Enjoy that time with your families. Our i-Ready Benchmark opens on Tuesday, September 6th. Please encourage your students to try their best and take their time. We need accurate results, in order to meet our students where they are. If all things fall into place, our iPads will be distributed that day. Leaders of the month for September will be posted on our school website, as well as Schoology, early next week. These will be student names only. We are so proud of the outstanding leadership skills these students have shown in the first few days of school. Just a reminder, please do not park in the lot for drop off or pick-up UNLESS you have a Pre-K student. We all also need to follow the traffic pattern, if you have questions about this place feel free to reach out. Fourth and fifth grade clubs begin next week, students who have signed up for and been assigned to a club will get breakfast, if they choose, and then head straight to their club location. Parents – some of our staff, especially in the upper grades, will begin posting the weekly newsletter on Schoology. This will be teacher’s discretion. The cost of paper and copying has greatly increased, so we will be making use of the technology we have available. Additionally, we want to prepare our students for middle school, where Schoology is the main mode of communication. If you need a paper copy of the newsletter OR need to be provided with your Schoology access code again, reach out to the classroom teacher, Mrs. Warner or myself. Lastly, news from PTB. Be on the lookout for popcorn sales information. Also, class t-shirt orders are due by Friday, September 9th.

Good evening, Conner Street Families we have a few items on tonight’s call out. First, drop-off and pick-up have been going very well since the first day. Thank you all so much for following our traffic pattern and being so kind and patient. Reminder – Please DO NOT park in our lot to drop off. If you want to walk your child to the entrance, feel free to park at Forrest Burdette. Pre-K will be starting Tuesday, August 30th and those parents MUST park here to walk their child to the door. Additionally, traffic will be a little more difficult to navigate when we add our Pre-K, but hopefully we transition smoothly like have the last two days. Pre-K Drop off is at 7:30, please do not arrive early. Second, there is a PTB meeting at 7:00 pm on Wednesday, August 31st in our cafeteria. Please feel free to attend. Third, a quick reminder to turn in all required forms. If you choose to purchase computer insurance, that needs to be taken care of at home, not sent to the school. Lastly, if you received a health card that was blank on the back, please let us know and we will send home a correct form. Have a great weekend!

Good evening, Conner Street families, there are a few items in this callout so please listen carefully. Most is a review of our last call out. First, thank you so much to everyone who attended Open House it was great meeting all of you. Second, please remember that on the first day of school, parents must stay in their vehicle in the drop off lanes to expedite the traffic flow and maintain student safety. We will make sure your student makes it into the school and to the right classroom. If you are dropping your child off, please make sure to follow the traffic pattern of Lynn Avenue to Shank Avenue to Conner Street. Also, you will notice that the city has painted DO NOT BLOCK on the road at the intersection of Washington Avenue and Conner Street, this will allow our buses to merge in easily and keep traffic moving. Once all buses have dropped off, we will be able to open both lanes for car drop off. Third, Kindergarten - 5th grade students may be dropped off starting at 7:10 AM, school will begin at 7:30 and the tardy bell will ring at 7:40. School will dismiss at 2:30, starting with students that ride buses. After buses have departed, we will start releasing walkers and car pickups. Walker pickup has been moved to the end of the first grade hall over near the staff parking lot. Pre-K families will receive information specific to them later this week. Lunches are not free for all students this year, menus are posted on Schoology, as well as the school webpage. Finally, If you are doing car pick up please make sure to have your car tag prominently displayed in your window from the time you pull in until the time your children load into your car. This will be especially helpful the first couple of weeks while we are getting to know all our students, their families, and vehicles. It will also allow us to see which vehicles are still waiting for students. If you do not already have a car sign, please feel free to make one for yourself on that first day and we will get your names and get one ready for you by Thursday. Looking forward to seeing our students on Wednesday, have a great evening.

Good evening Connor Street families. We have a few pieces of information in this evening‘s call out. Number one class lists will be posted midweek at the school, they will not be on social media. Many parents prefer that their students information not be shared on social media platforms, so to honor their wishes and our students privacy and safety those lists will be posted at school and we ask that you not take photos to post on social media. We will do a call when they are posted. (Should be Wednesday) Secondly when school starts on August 24th the administrators at Conner Street will begin posting information on Schoology and the school website, we will not be using Facebook as our means of communication. The reason for this is that often misinformation is shared on Facebook, and it makes our jobs more difficult to have to go and clear up the confusion. Therefore we will post things on the school website, on Schoology, and we will continue to do regular callouts. If you do not have your Schoology account set up, you can contact your child’s teacher or one of the administrators for the access code to do so. The PTB page will remain active and our wonderful PTB will continue to share information about PTB events. Lastly, this Friday (Aug. 12), Putnam County Schools is holding a Back to School Bash at Hurricane High School. The hours are from 10 AM to 1 PM, the student must be present in order to pick up the grade appropriate supplies.
