Congratulations to Putnam County Schools Regional Math Field Day Team! On Tuesday, February 25, 2025, Putnam County Math Field Day winners competed for top math honors at the Region III Math Field Day competition at the University of Charleston.

 

The top three-scoring students in grades 4 through 9 and the top 10 scoring students in grades 10-12 will represent Region III advancing to the West Virginia State Math Field Day competition at West Virginia State University on Saturday, April 12, 2025.

MATH FIELD DAY, ELEMENTARY SCHOOL DIVISION

Math is SWEET! Putnam County Schools hosted Elementary Math Field Day at Poca High School on February 18, 2025! School teams of three students in grades 4 and 5 competed for top math honors and a chance to advance to Regional Math Field Day!

 

Students did outstanding work in four areas of mathematics: mental math, estimation computation, physical estimation, and a written (math) exam! We are excited to honor and celebrate all our 2025 student participants and Elementary Math Field Day Champions!

MATH FIELD DAY, HIGH SCHOOL DIVISION

TOYOTA Motor Manufacturing WV (TMMWV) sponsored Putnam County Schools’ Math Field Day, High School Division, on Tuesday, February 4, 2025. Putnam County High School Math Field Day Teams competed in one of the most rigorous academic events of the year for top math honors, scholarships, and a chance to represent Putnam County at the Regional Math Field Day competition.

 

Award categories included Top Scoring Senior by School, Top Two Scorers by School, Winning Team, Ninth Grade Winners, Grade 10-12 Winners, and the “Math Excellence Scholarship” from Louise Goode and Ava Crum of Keller Williams. This $200 scholarship is awarded to students in grades 10-12 (placing in the top 10) who advance and compete at the Regional Math Field Day event.

 

The top three-scoring ninth graders and top 10-scoring students in grades 10-12 advance to the Regional Math Field Day competition at the University of Charleston on February 25, 2025.
